A castle-like venue amongst the rolling Adelaide Hills was the perfect place for a garden party wedding.

The Theme
Our theme was simple with a bit of an old school Italian garden party vibe. The colours were black and white with a bit of lemon – we had Aperol spritzes after the ceremony and Limoncello bonbonnieres to compliment the theme. Our signage and stationery were all black and white and the flowers from Adelaide Flower House were a combination of white roses, poppies and daisies, as well as seasonal blooms like jasmine.

The Planning
I am quite an unorganised person when it comes to stuff like this, plus we had a baby during the planning process, so I basically booked the most important stuff six months out – photographer, celebrant, flowers, band – and sorted the rest two weeks before the wedding! The Venue

The Manor is a unique sort of venue in the Adelaide Hills. We only visited two venues and as soon as we saw it we knew it was perfect. The reception was in the upstairs ballroom and featured a huge stone feature wall. It was the perfect backdrop to our bridal table.

The Dress
I only went to a couple dress stores. I found a dress I really liked at The Bride Lab on King William Road, however just as I was about to pay I saw a sleeve poking out from the rack. I tried it on and the rest is history. The Amaline Vitale dress was a simple, white crepe off-theshoulder number with a fitted bodice. It was super comfortable to wear and had long sleeves, which was perfect for a September wedding.

The Bridesmaids
One of my bridesmaids was pregnant at the time and I wanted everyone to feel as comfortable as possible on the day, but still look formal and beautiful. So, I gave them a budget and the parameters of ‘long black dress’ and they all nailed it! I really like that it wasn’t ‘matchy matchy’.

The Styling
I hired rippled glassware and matte black cutlery from White Marquee to make our table settings pop; I also had long tapered candles sporadically placed on the tables. Upon entry to our reception, guests were greeted by a huge arch of flowers, which were amazing.
